Amir Akbari
(Chief Executive Officer - CEO)
Mr. Akbari holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. He has over 11 years of industrial and academic experience as a mechanical engineer specializing in power generation cycles. He has led a variety of projects in the turbine manufacturing industry for power plants, and has managed a team of over 100 engineers and their supporting teams.Since 2015, Mr. Akbari has successfully led anessa through the early stages of research and development, investment fundraising, and into commercialization.
Farough Motasemi
(Chief Technical Officer)
Dr. Motasemi holds a PhD specializing in biomass and waste-to-energy and bio-products from the University of New Brunswick. With an in-depth knowledge of biochemical and thermochemical processes, he has incorporated leading-edge techniques in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for energy recovery from waste materials into anessa’s products.Dr. Motasemi is responsible for technology development at anessa, including the development of waste-to-energy algorithms.
Konstantin Nasartschuk
(VP Product Development)
Dr. Nasartschuk holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick. He has over 10 years of experience in applied research on software systems and virtual machine technology. His research has resulted in over a dozen published conference and journal papers. During his extensive studies, he has contributed to several large open-source software products in collaboration with Fraunhofer IAIS, IBM and Intel.Dr. Nasartschuk designs the software architecture and manages the development of anessa technologies.
Robert DiDiodato
(VP Business Development)
Mr. DiDiodato holds a B.Sc. from the University of New Brunswick and a B.Ed. from St. Thomas University. He has held senior management and business development roles in technology startup firms for over 20 years. He has extensive experience developing B2B models, partnerships and teams that have led to high growth in several international markets.Mr. DiDiodato leads anessa’s business development and sales teams, which are tasked with providing solutions that exceed customer expectations.
Kenneth Kent
(VP Funding & Investments)
Dr. Kent holds a PhD in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of Victoria. He has extensive industrial and academic experience, having worked with over 20 companies in product development and project management, including leading a team that contributed to IBM’s J9 Java Virtual Machine product. He is an inventor of 12 patents in progress and has extensive publications on research and development in Computer Science. He has been recognized as a University of New Brunswick Research Scholar and an IBM Faculty Fellow of the Year.Dr. Kent has been involved in the development of anessa’s software products since the early stages of the company as Chief Product Officer. He remains an active core team member as he tends to other responsibilities outside of anessa.
Helen Hayward
(Director of Marketing)
Ms. Hayward has a B.A. from Keele University and is a certified Digital Marketing Professional with the Digital Marketing Institute. She has 15 years of experience marketing a range of startup and established companies. She has extensive experience building social media presence and leveraging digital advertising to generate awareness, strengthen brand recognition, and attract new leads. Ms. Hayward has developed new marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and integrated digital campaigns that have led to significant growth from ground zero.Ms. Hayward leads anessa's marketing operations to drive awareness, sales, and growth for the company.
